Logo and Identity Design

A great visual identity is simple, distinctive and reflects the business, services or products it represents. Whether it’s trendy or timeless, the design should work well in print, digital and broadcast environments. I strive for all these things when creating your identity, get it right and more people will take you seriously, buying into what you do and how you do it.

Designing your Logo

  • Phase 1

    Consultation
    and research

We’ll start with a conversion. I learn about your business and what your objectives are. We’ll talk about the quality and scope of your services, who your typical client or customer is and how you compare to your competitors. I’ll then conduct my own market research and report back my findings.

  • Phase 2

    Logo concepts
    and mockups

Once the creative brief has been approved I’ll put together a series of style boards so we can better explore what your logo might look like. Establishing clarity at this stage is important and once our thinking and expectations are aligned I’ll move on to developing a selection of suitable logos for you to review.

  • Phase 3

    Refine logo and make
    production ready

At this stage you provide feedback on the logos I’ve presented to you. You may already have a favourite, or perhaps you would like to see a tweak or two made before you make up your mind. Once you’ve chosen your logo I’ll make it ‘production ready’ and supply it to you in various file formats.

  • Phase 4

    Visual guidelines
    and support items

Now it’s time to apply your logo to any support items you may need. I probably created mockups of some of these items in Phase 2 but this is where we finalise the designs. This may include letterheads, complement slips, business cards, presentation folders and social media graphics.

More Information

  • Business Stationery Design

    Business Stationery

I often design business stationery and logos in tandem. When selecting a logo it’s often not enough to simply see the logo on a blank page, you’ll want to see how it looks on a letterhead, compliment slip or business card. Only then will you know if the designs are actually working. It’s not all about design though, print finishing plays an important part in a great set of business stationery. I have detailed knowledge of paper stock and print finishing such as spot UV varnish, foil blocking and letterpressing.

  • Complimentary Graphics

    Complimentary Graphics

Usually a business needs more than just a logo and stationery. I can design your business an entire collection of graphical elements, flexible enough to be used for on-going marketing and advertising opportunities. Maybe you need a series of custom photographs to help tell your story or perhaps a series of icons to best represent your core services, or even a creative PowerPoint template ready for your next business meeting. I can provide on-going support whenever you need it.

  • Presentations, Powerpoint, Keynote, Interactive PDF

    Branded Templates

It’s all very well to have a great identity for your business but it’s all for nothing if you don’t apply it correctly and consistently throughout your business. I can work with your staff to produce branded templates for all their needs. Whether that’s for proposal documents, social media posts, internal documents, email signatures and campaigns, or even a creative Keynote presentation ready for their next business meeting. I can provide on-going support whenever needed.

  • Logo Identity Guidelines

    Identity Guidelines

Have you ever wondered what the correct font for your business is or have been asked what the Pantone colour reference is for your logo? That’s what style guidelines are for. I create identity guidelines suitable for your business that unify all your brand elements and answer many of those awkward questions you get asked. The need for such documents depends greatly on the size of your business. Sole traders will most likely need basic guidelines explaining proper use of their logo, typefaces and colour pallet. Large businesses may require everything from example layouts to brand ‘tone of voice’.

  • Vehicle Livery Design

    Vehicle Livery

Don’t forget vehicle signage! It’s an important part of completing the overall look of your identity and ideal for creating a great first impression. Further more your business will be visible wherever you go, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, leading to improved brand visibility. So whether you require a subtle logo with contact details or a full body wrapped graphic to get you noticed I can help design the most appropriate creative solution for your fleet of vehicles.
